On 9 February 2026, the partners and technical committee members of the Interreg France-Wallonia-Flanders DepolLowC project met for the project's official kick-off meeting.
The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the project's objectives, present its methodological framework, and launch the first technical discussions supporting its implementation.
Key topics included :
- The development process for low-carbon binders produced from industrial by-products;
- The availability of raw and secondary materials across the project area, including slag, fly ash, and clay-rich dredged sediments;
- The identification of contaminated soils and sites that could be used to validate the stabilization performance of the binders.
This successful first meeting marks the start of a cross-border collaboration aimed at promoting the sustainable remediation and redevelopment of brownfield sites.
